Executive Bios
Douglas Frame – President
Mr. Frame graduated from the University of Minnesota in 1977 with a Bachelor
of Science Degree in Business Administration. He joined the Phoenix Solutions
family in 1988 and has held a variety of responsibilities, including International
sales in Asia and Europe, Domestic sales, and Project Management.
Since being named President in 2001, Mr. Frame has directed Phoenix strongly
in the area of Plasma Heating, and has achieved solid sales with demanding customers.
Mr. Frame’s plans for the future of Phoenix include exploring new technologies
while continuing to advance our Plasma Heating Systems.
J. Leonard Frame – C.E.O
Leonard Frame began Phoenix Solutions Company, then Fluidyne Engineering Corporation,
in 1952. President from the company’s inception until retiring from that
position in 2001, Leonard expanded the company into 150 employees, focusing
on Aero Propulsion, Wind Tunnel design and High Temperature Heaters. In 1993,
Fluidyne sold the wind tunnel assets to focus on high temperature heaters, under
the name Phoenix Solutions Company. As Phoenix Solutions, the company quickly
became an industry leader in Plasma Heating Systems, Electric Resistance Screen
Heaters and Cored Brick Storage Heaters.
In addition to his role as C.E.O, Mr. Frame oversees the Projects Division,
as well as the Marketing Department. He is largely involved in all the publications
Phoenix produces.
Dr. Gary J. Hanus – Senior Vice President, C.T.O
Dr. Hanus gained a doctorate in Mechanical Engineering from Purdue University
in 1976, having already acquired a Master of Science degree in Aeronautics,
Astronautics and Engineering Science from Purdue in 1972 and a Bachelor’s
of Science in Aerospace Engineering from Iowa State University in 1970. Dr.
Hanus is Phoenix’s Chief Technology Officer, and in that capacity has
responsibility for Engineering/Design and all R&D, both internal and external
in the form of government sponsored SBIR’s. Dr. Hanus has led Phoenix
to the completion of numerous Phase I and Phase II SBIR’s, working with
Department of Defense and the Department of Energy. Dr. Hanus has been responsible
for all plasma technology projects initiated at Phoenix over the last ten years
as well as all hypersonic test facility design and development over the last
fifteen years. |
