Plasma Arc Heating Systems
Phoenix plasma arc heating systems lead the industry in reliability,
efficiency and performance. Customers such as Ebara, Kobelco and KHI operate
Phoenix systems in a variety of applications, from converting wastes to
heating of the tundish in steel processing. Our plasma heating systems
offer superior torch life, a wide range of versatility and the backing
of our knowledgeable and dedicated staff.

Defining the Process
Phoenix Solutions has 33 commercial systems currently in the field, achieving
more than 150,000 cumulative commercial operating hours. As a result of more
than 20 years of development, our torches have recently attained 2300 hours
of rear electrode life. Phoenix offers a versatile line of systems with torches
as small as 50 kW to as large as 3 MW for both transferred and non-transferred
operation, and with switch on the fly capability.
Phoenix acquired Plasma Energy Corporation in 1998, and merged the respective
lines of products to produce unsurpassed reliability, efficiency and performance.
Commercial Scale Test Facility
Phoenix operates a test facility in Hutchinson, Minnesota. At the test facility,
each component is individually checked and the entire plasma heating system
is fully demonstrated. The torch, power supply, cooling systems and control
systems are individually tested, and an equipment inspection test is performed
on the assembled system.
Phoenixs Test Facility:
- Handles systems up to 3 MW
- Ability to expand to accommodate 6 MW
- Includes pilot scale test set up for melting and destruction systems
